The Body of Deacons at Grace Baptist Church, Amakom plays a vital role in the life of our congregation. Through faithful service, compassionate care, and servant-leadership, our deacons support the spiritual health of the church, ensure practical needs are met, and help further our mission of gospel outreach and community love.
What Do Our Deacons Do?

Pastoral Support & Care: The deacons assist our pastoral staff by offering prayer, counsel, and personal care to members—especially the sick, elderly, bereaved, and those going through difficult times.

Practical Service & Stewardship: Deacons coordinate ministries of mercy, ensuring that resources—material, spiritual, or emotional—are shared with those in need; oversee benevolence, outreach, and support programs.

Service in Worship & Church Life: They help facilitate worship services, assist in communion and ordinances, support church administration, and serve wherever needed to build unity and order.

Fostering Community & Fellowship: By promoting fellowship, accountability, and mutual support among church members, deacons help nurture a loving, caring, spiritually healthy church family.

Leadership & Accountability
The Body of Deacons serves under the spiritual oversight of the pastoral leadership. They meet regularly to plan for outreach and care ministries, and ensure that all service is carried out in love, transparency, and according to biblical principles.

The Church Council is the primary decision-making and administrative leadership body of Grace Baptist Church, Amakom. Committed to prayerfully guiding the church’s mission and ensuring excellence in ministry, the Council provides direction, oversight, and coordination for all church activities, programs, and departments.
Leadership Structure
Senior Pastor – Chair of the Council
The Church Council is chaired by the Senior Pastor, who provides spiritual leadership, vision, and pastoral oversight. As the shepherd of the congregation, the Senior Pastor ensures that all decisions and ministry plans align with the Scriptures and the mission of the church.
Committee Heads & Auxiliary Presidents
The Council is composed of all committee heads and auxiliary presidents, who represent the various ministries within the church. Together, they collaborate to plan programs, assess ministry needs, and drive the growth and health of the church.
These include leaders of departments such as:
- Discipleship & Christian Education
- Evangelism & Missions
- Music & Worship
- Youth and Children’s Ministry
- Men’s and Women’s Fellowships
- Welfare, Ushering, Media, and more

Church Administrator & Senior Accountant
The Church Administrator and Senior Accountant play vital supporting roles in the Council.
- The Administrator ensures smooth coordination, communication, and implementation of council decisions.
- The Senior Accountant provides financial guidance, transparency, and accountability for all church resources.
Together, they help maintain effective operations, proper stewardship, and orderly management of church affairs.
Role and Purpose of the Church Council
The Church Council exists to:
